略歴京都府立嵯峨野高校、京都大学文学部および大学院文学研究科、カリフォルニア大学ロサンジェルズ校（UCLA）心理学部大学院博士課程を卒業・修了。学位：文学修士、M.A., Ph.D.愛知学院大学文学部専任講師・助教授、神戸大学文学部助教授、名古屋大学環境学研究科助教授を経て2007年10月より現職。UCLA心理学部ほかで客員講師・非常勤講師多数。 |

研究テーマ
社会的認知、集団間関係、言語とコミュニケーション、認知の文化的共有研究領域
私の研究領域は広範にわたりますが、ひとつの共通点は、「他者の行為について、人がどのようにして説明を加えながら、納得したり理解したりしているのか」に対する関心です。例えば、集団ステレオタイプには遺伝や血統、気候・風土といった、もっともらしい説明が付随していることがよくあります。また、個人や集団の行為について責任を追及したり罰を加えたりする場合には、その行為がどの程度まで意図や動機に基づいていたかという説明づけが根拠となります。さらに重要なことに、こうした説明・理由づけは、人々の噂やマスコミ報道などを通じて、広く社会に共有されているのが普通です。そこで、認知の社会的共有性に影響する、言語やコミュニケーションの役割と特質についても研究を行っています。また、文化や制度といった社会的基盤に基づいて、説明が形成・維持されていく過程も明らかにしたいと思っています。最近の研究業績
